EQ Group is an investor in high-end niche recruitment start-ups built by operators for ambitious founders across the US and UK. We back the people running the desks, invest in the intelligence behind them, and hold every brand to the same standard. What follows is what we agree to before we agree to anything else.

    01

    Operators, not intermediaries

Every brand inside EQ is run by people who have carried a number, built a desk, or scaled a company from the inside. We do not sell advice we have never taken ourselves. That single test decides who we back, who we hire, and what work we agree to do.

In practice it means the person you meet on the first call is the person who owns the outcome. There is no account handoff, no relationship manager standing between you and the work. Founders lead searches. Operators build tools. The name on the invoice is the name on the delivery.

    02

A specialist investor, not a holding company

EQ partners with a small group of high-end niche recruitment firms. Each company keeps its own name, its own point of view, and its own founder in the chair. We provide backing, infrastructure and standards so every brand gets sharper on its own terms, not flattened into one identity.

That shape is deliberate. Buyers do not want a generalist agency wearing seven hats. They want a specialist who lives inside their market. The group behind that specialist is quiet on purpose.

    Concentration over coverage

We would rather own a narrow market than skim a wide one. Every brand in the group is built around a defined vertical, a defined seniority band, and a defined geography across the US and UK. The map is drawn before the desk is opened.

The trade-off is real. It means turning down work that would pay this quarter and holding out for mandates that compound. We accept that trade because it is the only way to build a book of clients who come back without a brief.

    04

    Intelligence is the product

The market has enough people who can send a CV. What is scarce is a point of view on where a category is going, who is moving inside it, and what a role is actually worth this quarter. That is the work we invest in behind every brand.

It is why the group publishes salary ledgers, demand indexes, and operator tools that most agencies would keep locked in a slide deck. If the intelligence is any good, giving it away is the fastest way to be trusted with the mandate that matters.

    05

    Standards travel further than scripts

We do not run playbooks that force every brand to sound the same or work the same. What we share instead is a set of standards on candidate care, client honesty, and the way a search is closed. Those standards are not negotiable, and they are what a founder signs up to when they join the group.

The result is a house that can look different from brand to brand and still feel identical to work with. A candidate leaves the process better informed than they arrived. A client hears the truth before they hear the pitch.

    Long time horizons

The people we back are building for a decade, not a cycle. That shapes how we structure partnerships, how we measure a good year, and what we say no to. Fast growth that breaks the standard is not growth we count.

It also shapes who joins. We hire people who want to run something for a long time, not people looking for a stage on their way somewhere else. The group is designed to make that a rational choice.

    07

    Quiet by default

The work should speak first. We do not chase awards, we do not brief the trade press, and we do not talk about clients we have not been asked to name. Discretion is part of what the group is paid for.

This page is the loudest we intend to be. Everything else lives inside the brands, inside the searches, and inside the rooms where the real decisions are made.

    Common questions about EQ Group

    What is EQ Group?

EQ Group is an investor in high-end niche recruitment start-ups across the US and UK. It backs founder-led brands with capital, operating infrastructure and market intelligence, and holds every brand in the group to one operating standard. Portfolio brands include LAUNCH, Scale Health, Take a Seat, Take a Seat Tech, Sentio Group and GrowNeuro.

Is EQ Group a recruitment agency or an investor?

An investor. EQ Group does not trade as a single agency. Each company in the group keeps its own name, its own market and its own founder in the chair, and the group sits behind them providing capital, infrastructure and standards.

What kind of recruitment founder does EQ Group back?

Operators, not intermediaries. People who have carried a number, built a desk or scaled a company from the inside, building around a defined vertical, a defined seniority band and a defined geography in the US or UK. Concentration over coverage: EQ Group would rather own a narrow market than skim a wide one.

What does a founder get after investment?

Capital, the group's operating infrastructure and tech stack, market intelligence including salary and demand data, and a set of non-negotiable standards on candidate care, client honesty and how a search is closed. What a founder does not get is a playbook forcing their brand to sound like every other brand in the group.

    Where does EQ Group operate?

The US and the UK. The group is headquartered in Manchester in the UK and works on both sides of the Atlantic daily, with brands benchmarking and hiring across both markets.

How do I speak to EQ Group?

Through the contact page. Every message is read the same working day by a partner. There are no auto-responders and no gatekeepers.
